Camden County is bracing for "high winds, heavy rain and some flooding" this evening, according to an announcement from the Camden County Freeholders:

In advance of the storm system, Camden County crews are clearing inlet tops of debris, checking on flood gates, preparing barricades and cones in case of the need for road closures and generally monitoring the situation. Residents are encouraged to drive with caution and avoid low-lying areas where flooding is known to occur.

If flooding occurs, never drive your vehicle into areas where water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful enough to sweep vehicles off the road.

The National Weather Service in Mt. Holly forecasts "showers and possibly a thunderstorm between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m., then showers likely after 4 a.m.:

Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Low around 45. Windy, with a south wind 23 to 28 mph becoming west 15 to 20 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 50 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.
