Clay Fest 2012
November 30-December 2, 2012
Perkins Center for the Arts, Collingwood, NJ
Presented by PNC Arts Alive
We invite you to Clay Fest 2012, a weekend filled with experiencing CLAY.
- Friday’s Preview Party will include an opportunity to view and purchase the artwork, live music, refreshments, demonstrations and meet the artists;
- Throughout the weekend, functional and decorative clay objects created by 20 Delaware Valley ceramic artists will be on exhibit and for sale. Clay Fest is an opportunity to support local artisans and enjoy their work for a lifetime;
- At Saturday’s Empty Bowls Fundraiser you can purchase a handmade bowl and have it filled with soup or salad donated by local restaurants, with proceeds supporting the South Jersey Food Bank & Perkins Center for the Arts scholarship program.
- Scheduled on Saturday and Sunday, participants will have opportunities to pinch, poke, squeeze and model clay into unique forms in hands-on workshops, and artist-led demonstrations will include floral arranging for the one-of-a-kind vases selected from the show and how the presentation of food is enhanced by the use of clay vessels from the show and sale.
Clay Fest 2012 is part of the Social Artworking series presented by PNC Arts Alive. PNC Arts Alive is a five-year, $5 million investment from The PNC Foundation that supports visual and performing arts groups with the goal of increasing arts access and engagement. Only twenty-six arts organizations in the Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey region were selected for bold thinking around increasing arts access and engagement and Perkins Center for the Arts was one.
