54th ANNUAL CAMDEN COUNTY 4-H FAIR AUG. 3-5

Fair to be held at Miller Farms in Berlin, NJ

CHERRY HILL – There’s nothing like a touch of country living to put you in a summer state of mind. With activities like barrel races, ribs cook-off, line dancing and a visit from the state Dairy Princess, the Camden County 4-H Fair will stir up those old-fashioned warm weather memories.

The Camden County 4-H Association and the Camden County Board of Freeholders will host the 54^th Annual Camden County 4-H Fair from Friday evening Aug. 3 to Sunday afternoon Aug. 5 at Miller Farms on 134 North Grove Street in Berlin, NJ.

The fair will run from 5:00 – 10:00 pm on Friday, Aug. 3; 10:00 am to 10:00 pm on Saturday, Aug. 4; and 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Sunday, Aug. 5.  There is a $5 parking donation, which is good for all three days. The event is FREE and perfect for families.

Camden County 4-H Fair events and activities:

Friday, Aug. 3 at 5 pm is the opening ceremony. Highlights of the evening also include the crowning of the Camden County 4-H Fair Queen, a rabbit show, a 4-H Ambassador Contest, barrel horse racing, and Friday evening entertainment.  County Freeholder Jeffrey Nash will be part of the opening ceremony.

Saturday, Aug. 4 highlights include:

• Horseback riding Demo
• Gourmet Club Breakfast Sale
• Ribs Cook-Off
• Spinning Wheel Demo
• Drill Team Dance Presentation
• Giant Ice Cream Sundae with the NJ State Dairy Princess
• Visit from Sahara Sam’s
• Water Balloon Toss
• Teen Dance with DJ
• Camden County 4-H’s Next Big Thing Open Talent Show

Sunday, Aug. 5:

• Car Show (Tentative)
• Pedal Tractor Pull (ages 3-10)
• Horse Demos and Drill Team
• The Give and Take Jugglers
• SoJo Radio
• Ladies Skillet Toss (GREAT PHOTO OPPORTUNITY!)
  
  

In addition, a variety of animal exhibits, musical entertainment, games, arts and crafts, Jersey fresh produce, vendors, and refreshments will be available to fairgoers.     

The Rutgers Cooperative Extension 4-H Youth Development Program is an informal, practical educational program for youth ages K-13 (one year out of high school). 4-H utilizes a learning-by-doing approach to enable youth to develop the knowledge, attitudes and skills to become competent and contributing citizens. Come out and see the exhibits showcasing the work of Camden County 4-H members and see what 4-H has to offer!
